I am an award-winning journalist and automotive reporter, dividing my time among the car cultures of Los Angeles, Detroit and New York. I was awarded a Knight-Bagehot fellowship in business and economics reporting from Columbia University, where I also earned a master’s degree in journalism. I spent five years in the Motor City covering the automotive industry for The New York Times and The Detroit News. My byline has also appeared in The New York Times Book Review, The New Yorker, Fortune, Glamour, Fast Company, Marie Claire, Men’s Health, Rolling Stone, and Refinery 29, among others. An inveterate traveler and aviation enthusiast, I have reported from five continents and serve as a U.S. juror to the World Car Awards.
