Starting an investment journalism career at the height of the technology boom may have been a baptism of fire, but it taught me some important lessons about financial markets. I’ve been writing about companies, stock markets and economies ever since, building a career on trying to understand them better. My over-riding aim has been to uncover how investors can plan their investment strategy to ensure long-term gain, without some of the associated pain. To this end, I’ve written for a broad range of publications – including the Telegraph, the FT, the Investors Chronicle – and even picked up a few awards along the way.
