I have been a confirmed car guy since learning to drive in a Mini in my native England. I worked at CAR magazine in the UK before crossing the pond and joining AutoWeek and subsequently Ward’s Auto World in Detroit. Since then I have gone global, writing as an independent auto journalist for newspapers and magazines the world over. I cover most aspects of the auto business; the good and bad of the cars themselves, how they are made and why people buy some of them. I belong to the Automotive Press Association and I’m on the World Car of the Year jury. My fascination with cars was fostered by my father, who owned a number of 1960s Jaguars. This has led to a series of interesting cars (and motorcycles, mostly BMWs and Ducatis) taking up residence in my garage; some of my favorites being a Fiat 124 Spyder, Jaguar E-Type and currently an Audi S7.
