I edit our annual ranking of the America’s Largest Private Companies. This means I focus on the private part of the private sector. I also pitch in on other data-driven projects from the editorial statistics department. Before working at Forbes, I was an associate editor at American Heritage, where I ran the research or fact-checking department. While there’s not too much overlap between American history and privately held U.S. companies, research is research. I happen to love research so this has worked out well.
