I have contributed to the New York Times, Vanity Fair, Politico, The Village Voice, Vice and many other publications. I have written about the gender gap on and Off-Broadway, the portrayal of women in popular TV shows, how health care reform will hurt trans people and survivors of sexual assault and how to protect LGBTQ rights in modern-day Christianity. My response to culture is shaped by current events, whether it’s a late-night comedy bit or a revival of a play by Shakespeare. A member of the League of Professional Theatre Women, the American Theatre Critics Association, the Drama Desk and the Outer Critics Circle, I focus on viewing and reporting culture through a progressive and feminist lens.
