I am a freelance writer taking a broad look at food and farming, from GMOs and farm succession planning to the benefits of family dinner and the unique deliciousness of Cheetos. I am the author of Change Comes to Dinner (St. Martin’s Press, 2012), a hopeful look at the entrepreneurs and innovators changing our food system for the better. Covering exciting developments such as the promotion of diversity in agriculture, the invention of mobile slaughterhouses, and the wizardry of greenhouse technology, the book “shows us the outline of a sane food system," according to Naomi Klein. I have also written on food and ag issues for Change.org, Civil Eats, The Huffington Post, The Chronicle of Higher Education, and Yes! Magazine, among others.
