Erik Ofgang is a journalist who writes about the world's best beer, cocktails, spirits and wine and the stories behind them. He’s written for Forbes since 2023 and has covered everything from award-winning lagers to sought-after bourbons and canned cocktails that are actually good. He appeared on the History Channel's “The Food That Built America” spirits episode and has written about Gilgamesh and AI and the wisdom of ancient brewers for The New York Times and sideshow magicians for Smithsonian magazine. He is the co-author of “The Good Vices: From Beer to Sex, The Surprising Truth About What’s Actually Good for You” and author of “Buzzed: Beers, Booze, & Coffee Brews.” He teaches journalism at Western Connecticut State University’s MFA program.
