Derek Norman is Vice President of Agriculture Venture Investments at Leaps by Bayer, the strategic investment unit of Bayer. He’s passionate about spotting and investing in potentially breakthrough technologies that could enable farmers to grow more food on less land while restoring the soil, protecting water resources, and adapting to climate change. Derek holds a PhD in biochemistry from Harvard and has been investing in agriculture for over a decade. He’s served on the boards of companies in areas spanning synthetic biology, biologicals, chemistry, new crops, and digital farming technologies.
