Daryl Fairweather is the chief economist of Redfin and author of Hate The Game: Economic Cheat Codes for Life, Love, and Work out April 2025 from The University of Chicago Press. She also sits on the academic advisory council to the Federal Reserve Bank of Dallas. Fairweather received her Bachelor of Science from the Massachusetts Institute of Technology and received her Ph.D. and Master's degrees in economics at the University of Chicago, where she specialized in behavioral economics. At Redfin, Fairweather studies the housing market and its relationship to the broader economy and public policy, as well as the behavior of consumers.
