Peter Holmstrom serves as head of school at Summit School just outside Waco, Texas, a growing, nature-based, project-driven independent school serving learners from 18 months through sixth grade. As a 2025 Yass Prize semifinalist, Summit School prioritizes whole-child learning, believes play is essential to development, and provides learners with meaningful, hands-on experiences across its 35-acre campus. Holmstrom brings a background in social work and a master’s degree in curriculum and instruction, grounding his leadership in relationships, student well-being, and experiential learning.
