David Salerno operates at the intersection of business, ideas, and entrepreneurial freedom through three distinct roles. Solpak Packaging Solutions: As Founder and President, David built Solpak over 20 years into one of Canada's most recognized packaging companies, reaching back-to-back Mercuriades finalist status (2024 & 2025), Quebec's highest business distinction, and recognition from Innovation Canada as one of the country's most promising companies. Entrepreneur Sherpa: Parallel to Solpak, David developed a proprietary 9-step framework for entrepreneurial freedom, which he has taught to hundreds of business owners across Canada. The methodology is the foundation of his book Built for Freedom: The Sherpa Method (2024, U.S. Library of Congress). He shares this expertise as a keynote speaker at national business events, guest lecturer at McGill University and ÉTS, and expert panelist at major entrepreneurship forums. His entrepreneurial roots go back to 1990, when he became one of Canada's youngest Student Painters franchisees at 17. Montreal Economic Institute (MEI); David serves as Vice Chairman of the Board of Directors and Chair of the Human Resources Committee of the MEI, one of Canada's foremost independent economic think tanks. David's mission, across all three roles, is to help entrepreneurs and society at large achieve greater freedom by building businesses and ideas that thrive in a free market world.
