I am the Founder and CEO of Roomi, a peer-to-peer marketplace and app that helps people find shared housing and the right people to live with. I’m originally from India, and am passionate about startups. Roomi is the third startup I have founded. I created the company in 2015, after experiencing the pain of searching for a housemate in NYC, spending countless hours emailing back and forth, sifting through candidates, and worrying about the safety and accuracy of listings. Prior to founding Roomi, I studied computer science at NYIT. I’m also a Lean Startup Machine mentor – I advise early-stage startups during crucial growth points. In addition to contributing to Forbes, I am a regular contributor to The Huffington Post, and have been featured in the L.A. Times, TechCrunch, Fox5 News, Curbed, The Real Deal and Bloomberg Businessweek.
