Sebastian Dobrincu is a Romanian software engineer, investor, and, at the age of 23, became the youngest investor in the history of Shark Tank-style shows when he joined the panel on Imperiul Leilor, Romania's edition of the international Shark Tank franchise. A recognizable figure in the European tech ecosystem, Sebastian was named to the Forbes 30 Under 30 Europe list in 2019. Sebastian’s career is defined by undeniable early mastery. Coding since age 10, his engineering talent garnered attention from Apple and Facebook leadership by age 16, resulting in invitations to meet with Tim Cook and Mark Zuckerberg. At 17, he relocated from Romania to New York to build Storyheap, a social media analytics platform that scaled to serve enterprise clients including Hulu, Universal Music, and Tumblr, alongside celebrity accounts such as Selena Gomez, DJ Khaled, and Kevin Hart. He exited the company to private equity before turning 25. Unlike many in tech, Sebastian is entirely self-funded. Born into a working-class family in Romania, he began working as a pre-teen to support his household after his father's business went bankrupt — a background that informs his pragmatic approach to evaluating founders today. Today, Sebastian serves as CEO of Scento, the largest online luxury perfume retailer in Europe, headquartered in Paris with operations across 19 markets. He is also co-founder of Revocalize AI, a voice synthesis platform for the music industry, alongside Grammy-nominated producer Marius Moga — whose credits include Maroon 5 and The Voice. Additionally, he manages Stage Ventures, deploying personal capital into early-stage AI and e-commerce ventures.
