For many, mining is only what they see in the news: a rustic activity, surrounded by stigma and operating on the fringes of technology. To me, it is the legacy I have committed to transforming. My journey didn’t begin with minerals but in the fields. I grew up mirroring the principles of my father, Marcelo, with the dream of becoming an agronomist. However, destiny (and my father’s advice) guided me toward business administration and the corporate world of multinationals like Syngenta and Amaggi. There, I learned the dynamics of efficiency, hedging, and corporate governance. The true turning point, however, came with the family succession. Accepting the challenge proposed by my father-in-law, Sérgio, I traded the comfort of corporate offices for the operational reality in Poconé (MT). I found a company facing financial difficulties and an extremely centralized management style. At that moment, I had to take three steps back to take a leap forward. I took command in an environment that didn't accept theories. I earned my place at the extraction site, arriving at 4:30 AM to understand every process, from mining to processing. My mission was to professionalize what was once intuitive. I implemented teams of geologists and mining engineers and established rigorous compliance processes that today allow us to engage with the banking sector and operate with absolute transparency. Today, as CEO, I lead the transition from the old “garimpo” mentality to a true industrial mining operation. We invest in cutting-edge technology, fleet renewal, and, above all, sustainable mining that supports the local community and institutions. I am the father of Gabriel, Aurora, and Bella, and the husband of Alyce. My family values are what sustain my executive vision: ethics, resilience, and the relentless pursuit of modernizing a sector vital to Brazil.
