Jon Egilsson writes about crypto, digital finance, blockchain technology, and their economic impacts. He co-founded Monerium, the first company to issue regulated fiat currency on blockchains. Jon holds a Ph.D. in economics and an M.Sc. in engineering. He served as chair of the supervisory board of the Icelandic Central Bank and was an adjunct professor, teaching financial engineering and finance, as well as an MBA lecturer. His research is the most read in the Journal of Applied Economics, and his IEEE cover article was featured in "The Best Writing on Mathematics 2017." Jon was also a visiting scholar at Columbia University. He currently resides in the U.K. and is an executive member of King’s College London.
