Katherin Nukk-Freeman is Co-Founder and President of SHIFT HR Compliance Training and Co-Founder of Nukk-Freeman & Cerra LLC, one of the largest woman-owned employment law firms on the East Coast, with an expanding presence on the West Coast. For more than 30 years, she has advised organizations on workplace risk, guiding employers through high-stakes harassment, discrimination, and retaliation matters. Throughout her legal career, she saw firsthand that many organizations were structured to respond to risk rather than prevent it. In 2014, she co-founded SHIFT to transform compliance from a legal obligation into a leadership strategy, reshaping how organizations think about culture, accountability, and prevention. At SHIFT, Katherin leads the development of legally precise, empathy-centered learning experiences that influence how people lead, speak up, and make decisions at work. By integrating employment law, social psychology, and storytelling, her work helps organizations build cultures that reduce risk, strengthen trust, and sustain performance. She partners with HR and executive leaders globally to design workplaces where people and performance thrive together. A frequent writer and speaker on compliance, leadership, and culture transformation, Katherin also serves on the Board of Directors of ConnectOne Bank.
