Barrett Smith is Chief Payments & Customer Operations Officer at Versapay, where he leads a broad cross-section of the business, spanning payments, underwriting, transaction monitoring, customer operations, professional services, pricing, analytics, and solutions engineering. He is responsible for aligning commercial strategy, technical execution, and customer delivery to accelerate growth and deliver measurable business outcomes. With more than 20 years of experience spanning payments, fintech, finance, pricing, analytics, and operations, Barrett is known for execution and delivery. His career has been defined by a rare breadth of functional leadership experience—building and rebuilding core commercial and operational infrastructure—and turning complexity into disciplined, scalable systems that drive transformation and sustained growth. He joined Versapay in 2020 as a consultant and advanced into enterprise leadership roles during a period of rapid scale. He has led the build and transformation of core enterprise capabilities across the commercial and delivery lifecycle—aligning strategy, analytics, technology, and customer operations to accelerate time-to-value and drive durable outcomes. Prior to Versapay, Barrett held leadership roles at Worldpay and Global Payments, where he led cross-functional teams across finance, analytics, pricing, and operations in highly regulated, mission-critical environments. Barrett writes and speaks on operational excellence, B2B payments transformation, scalable commercial infrastructure, and the leadership discipline required to translate strategy into durable execution. He holds a Bachelor of Science in Finance from the University of Alabama and an MBA from The College of William & Mary.
