Charlotte Kiang is a Principal with the Boston Consulting Group (BCG), where she advises companies and institutions across the space ecosystem on strategy and operations. Before joining BCG, she was an engineer at SpaceX, supporting Falcon 9, Dragon, and Starlink missions and leading NASA cargo integration for the first crewed Dragon flight. She is also a NASA Solar System Ambassador for the Seattle metro area, an appointed role through the Jet Propulsion Laboratory that authorizes volunteers to represent NASA on public outreach regarding the agency’s science missions, technology, and exploration. Drawing on experience spanning hands-on engineering and commercial strategy, her writing focuses on the science and engineering behind space systems - and why those technical realities shape what is possible beyond the launchpad.
