Jay Feinberg is the Founder and CEO of Gift of Life Marrow Registry, a nonprofit that facilitates life-saving blood stem cell and marrow transplants for patients with leukemia, lymphoma, and other blood-related diseases. A leukemia survivor and transplant recipient himself, Feinberg has transformed his personal journey into a global mission to expand access, champion diversity in donor registries, and drive innovation in cellular therapy. He also serves as Director of Gift of Life Biologics, which partners with biopharmaceutical firms and research institutions developing next-generation cell and gene therapies, and as President of the World Marrow Donor Association (WMDA), the international body setting standards for stem cell registries. Under his leadership, Gift of Life has pioneered cheek-swab and chewing gum donor testing, online registration tools, and the first registry-integrated stem cell collection center, while expanding into cell and gene therapy through its Center for Cell and Gene Therapy and Gift of Life Biologics. The organization operates its own laboratory, biobank, and collection center, has facilitated thousands of transplants, and built highly efficient donor recruitment processes. Feinberg holds a B.A. from Dickinson College and has served on the boards and advisory panels of organizations including WMDA, BioFlorida, the Alliance for Regenerative Medicine, and the Florida Agency for Health Care Administration. He was the first recipient of the prestigious Charles Bronfman Prize in recognition of dynamic leaders whose work is of universal benefit to all people.
