Beate van Loo-Born is a seasoned executive in financial services, data and climate finance with over 20 years of experience in European, Asian and US financial centres. Throughout her career, she has held leadership roles at top-tier organizations, including serving as COO of the Swiss Stock Exchange's data business (SIX), as Head Strategic Programs at UBS and COO at Climate Arc. Since January 2025 she serves as CFO of Physik Instrumente (PI) a German precision manufacturer. Driven by a relentless pursuit of creating global positive impact for organizations, people and the planet, she has integrated her deep expertise in sustainability, finance and data to consistently deliver strategic solutions driving global transformation in both large corporations and emerging startups. Believing in the importance of interdisciplinary collaboration, she is a strong ecosystem builder bringing together diverse groups across teams, geographies and industries. As a thought leader, keynote speaker, and mentor, Beate shares her expertise and approaches to problem solving, inspiring others to create positive impact for individuals, organizations and the planet. She holds multiple advanced degrees, including an MA in Sustainable Leadership from the University of Cambridge and an MBA from the Sorbonne. Currently pursuing a PhD at the University of Antwerp, she focuses on levers in finance to accelerate the climate transition. Beate also serves as a Board Member at First Light, a domestic abuse response organization, and leads the Women Data Professionals EMEA Chapter.
