Winston Ross is a Portland-based journalist who writes about travel, food, wine, the drug war, politics, business and culture. His career began in Kansas City and has taken him around the world, last as a Europe Correspondent for Newsweek, where he chronicled the rise of far-right extremism in Dutch politics and pickpockets in Barcelona. He has won multiple regional and national awards and is an alum of The Daily Beast and several newspapers in the American west. His home in Oregon is on Airbnb, and he travels whenever it gets rented, often in ever-evolving overlanding vehicles.
