I am a social entrepreneur, which means I've never done the same thing twice. I've been a Peace Corps volunteer, a non-profit co-founder, a consultant, and the first Director of Giving for TOMS Shoes. I currently run Texas Competes, the coalition of businesses calling for an LGBT-friendly Lone Star State. I recently published Work. Pump. Repeat: The New Mom's Survival Guide to Breastfeeding and Going Back to Work, which I'm pretty sure is the only breastfeeding book in history to avoid using the term "breast is best" AND to include mention of the Harlem Globetrotters. I am a frequent writer and speaker on the realities and needs of working parents; my 2015 TED talk on the case for paid leave has more than a million views.
