Marisa Garcia spent 16 years in aviation, hands-on in hangars, training centers, and boardrooms from 1994 to 2010. During that time she worked with airline CEOs, engineers, airline buyers, and design teams to launch new programs. She was the executive responsible to industry regulators for the approval process of cabin equipment, overseeing R&D, production, quality control and testing facilities. She even holds a patent for a military-spec life raft.In 2013, she pivoted to journalism, applying her aviation experience, and writes for top industry and consumer publications. Her hands-on experience, technical knowledge, and industry insights equip her to make the complex business of flight easier to understand.
