The ethos of a business comes from the top; in the case of Nour Private Wealth, the firm’s philosophy mimics that of its founder: Mr. Elie Nour. A graduate from McGill University with a Bachelor of Arts degree Majoring in Economics, and with two Minors in Management and Hispanic Studies, his passion for investment led him into the wealth management industry in 2005 with Berkshire Securities. His starting point was no accident, Berkshire’s conservative approach to money management, allied with its full-service range of financial services, tax and estate planning made it a natural fit for Nour. After Manulife Securities acquired Berkshire in 2007, he kept on enhancing his reputation before becoming the top financial advisor with the firm. Due to his disciplined and conservative approach to investing, Mr. Nour delivered the right downside protection strategies that helped protect his clients’ retirement assets during the crisis of 2008-2009 which has led him to emerge as the second top producer for Manulife in Canada in 2009 and 2010, before taking top spot in 2011. His success as a solo operator led him to build his own team under the Nour Private Wealth, in 2013. It was a bold move, but has since proven a wise one, as the business has gone from strength-to-strength. In 2015, Nour Private Wealth won the New Practice of the Year Award at the Wealth Professional Awards in Toronto. On an individual level, Mr. Nour, a Certified Financial Planner (CFP®) and Chartered Investment Manager (CIM®), has been a mainstay in the Wealth Professional Top 50 Advisors' poll since 2014, a poll that highlights the wealth management industry’s premier talent. He was also nominated for the Young Gun of the Year Award in 2016 and for the Advisor of the Year Award in 2017 and 2018 by the Wealth Professional. Mr. Nour is a member of the Forbes Finance Council and serves on the board of the University of Toronto Faculty of Music Advisory Council.
