Dr. Terry Oroszi is a highly accomplished Associate Professor and Vice Chair of the Department of Pharmacology and Toxicology at Wright State University, with two decades of experience spanning healthcare and homeland security. She specializes in the strategic application of emerging technologies in science and medicine and is a recognized leader with a strong record of scholarly publications and successful grant funding. Dr. Oroszi's research integrates the psychology of crisis decision-making, nonverbal communication, and violent extremism with practical applications in leadership development, threat assessment, and the innovative use of new technologies to address complex global challenges. She has developed and taught courses on security and threat assessment, leadership and crisis decision-making, and healthcare and homeland security. As Director of MS Graduate Programs since 2008, Dr. Oroszi has driven significant revenue growth for graduate programs and negotiated strategic partnerships with industry experts and government agencies to enhance program offerings. She also founded and directs a nationally recognized CBRN (Chemical, Biological, Radiological, and Nuclear) Certificate Program. Her expertise in security and threat assessment is further demonstrated by her professional certifications, including Situation Awareness Specialist® - Advanced Practitioner and Master Practitioner, and training from the FBI in areas such as Body Language Expert and Fundamentals of Homeland Security. Dr. Oroszi has also completed Open-Source Intelligence (OSINT) Exploitation courses and a Leadership in Emerging Technology: Security, Strategy & Risk Program at the John F. Kennedy School of Government at Harvard University. Dr. Oroszi's commitment to advancing interdisciplinary initiatives and leadership is evident in her co-founding of the Gandhi/King Center for Nonviolence with Mahatma Gandhi’s great-grandson and Dr. Martin Luther King’s family members, and co-founding The Dayton Think Tank, a crisis management think tank, with the former Dayton Mayor. She has also served as a Senior Research Engineer, providing CBRN consulting services to the Department of Homeland Security. Her extensive publications include peer-reviewed journal articles, books such as "The American Terrorist: A 20-Year Study", and numerous articles published through the Homeland Security Community of Best Practices. Dr. Oroszi is also a frequent speaker at national and international conferences on topics ranging from terrorism to crisis decision-making.
