Bret Jordan is one of the world's leading cybersecurity experts with over 25 years experience collaborating with government agencies, critical infrastructure, industry thought leaders, and academic researchers to drive creative new ideas, technologies, and solutions that have material impact on protecting systems and data. Jordan serves as Chief Security Strategist at Afero where he works on advanced and upcoming technologies, secure IoT systems, long-term product vision and strategy, horizon scanning, and international standards. Prior to Afero, Jordan served as CTO of Emerging Technologies for Broadcom. He has also held leadership positions at Symantec, Blue Coat Systems, Solera Networks, and several other startups, enterprises, and nonprofits. Jordan recently contributed to the Center for International Security paper on IoT Security and is active in many other international efforts around cyber threat intelligence, cybersecurity, and IoT. His current research includes the impacts of 5G, IoT, and cryptography on cybersecurity and society. He has contributed to and served as co-chair and editor for many international standards including: STIX, TAXII, CACAO, and OpenC2 from OASIS and various work products from the IETF and the ITU. Jordan serves on the Board of Directors of OASIS, as well as the Technical Advisory Board of the Cyber Threat Intelligence Network.
