My role is Director of the Centre for Sustainable Finance at the Cambridge Institute for Sustainability Leadership (CISL). I work with the finance industry to embed sustainability into decision-making and to rewire the system. My aim is to move the finance sector closer toward the UN's Sustainable Development Goals and to advance policy and market practices—including through the Banking Environment Initiative, ClimateWise, and the Investment Leaders Group. I started my career in finance in London and Frankfurt. I spent the financial crisis managing a risk desk on the trading floor, which spurred my next shift into the academic world to better understand financial practices that drive resilience and sustainability. I now act as a knowledge partner to the G20 Green Finance Study Group, central banks and TNFD. I am a member of the Sustainable Finance Advisory Panel at the Monetary Authority of Singapore, the Sustainable Finance Scientific Council at S&P Ratings, and the Board of Directors at the Global Research Alliance for Sustainable Finance.
