Kelby Woodard serves as president of the Cristo Rey Network, the nation’s largest system of Catholic college preparatory high schools serving students from families with limited financial means. Cristo Rey blends rigorous academics with real-world experience through its signature Corporate Work Study Program. Woodard draws on a distinctive background in business and politics to fuel his work in education. He held senior leadership roles at Target Corporation and founded consulting firm Trade Innovations before serving two terms in the Minnesota House of Representatives. Those experiences led him to a career in education, where he became the founding president of Cristo Rey Dallas College Prep and later headmaster at Saint Thomas Academy in Minnesota. Woodard writes and speaks on the future of education and its power to create opportunity for underserved students. He is a graduate of the University of North Texas and earned his MBA from the University of Dallas.
