Reema is the founder and CEO of Green Sands, a boutique venture capital firm based in Silicon Valley and Zurich. Investing across all stages of Technology, Healthcare, Space, and Frontier Tech with a focus on Growth Equity, Green Sands was ranked among top 11 investors in the U.S. by Fortune Magazine in 2022. As a leading entrepreneur and investor, Reema has built Green Sands Equity into a powerhouse for Deep Tech and geopolitically informed strategic investments. Driven by systems-level thinking focused on interdisciplinary innovation across sectors that increasingly converge and cross-pollinate, Green Sands backs innovations at the intersection of science evolving into engineering. Green Sands has invested in iconic companies like SpaceX, Axiom Space, Pasqal, Colossal, Paradromics, and also Spotify and Airbnb. She is a senior advisor to the CEOs of multi-billion dollar deep tech companies like Axiom Space, Sandbox AI & Quantum, and Colossal Biosciences. Since 2018, Reema has been an ambassador to the United Nations on behalf of Royal Academy of Science International Trust. Reema lectures at Stanford Graduate School of Business and Berkeley Haas School of Business on Investment, AI, and Entrepreneurship. In philanthropic endeavors, Reema endowed the Green Sands AI Fund at MIT. She is a trustee of the SETI Institute and Chairwoman of their Endowment, in this capacity she allocates the funds to other managers. The SETI Institute is a scientific organization, substantially funded by NASA grants, dedicated to investigating the nature of the universe and the prevalence of life beyond Earth. Annually, she awards the "Green Sands Prize” to leaders who have made a profound impact on society. Recipients have included 43rd Treasure of the United States, Rosie Rios, COO of Space X, Gwynne Shotwell, and NIH Lead under Dr. Fauci, Kizzmekia Corbett.
