Amber Nigam is a healthcare entrepreneur with over fourteen years of experience in healthcare and AI. As the co-founder and CEO of basys.ai, a cutting-edge generative AI healthtech startup, he leads business development, strategy, and fundraising efforts. Under his leadership, basys.ai leverages generative AI to transform prior authorization and utilization management processes, driving both improved outcomes and cost savings across the healthcare sector. Amber holds a bachelor's degree in Computer Science and a master's degree in Health Data Science from Harvard University, where he was recognized as a Cheng Fellow, Roslyn and Lisle Payne Scholar, and one of the 40 under 40 by the Boston Congress of Public Health. His academic journey also includes contributions to three patents and several research papers that explore the intersection of AI and healthcare. Before basys.ai, Amber founded kydots.ai, where he successfully led teams to develop innovative solutions, resulting in two patents and a research publication prior to the company's acquisition. This experience deepened his commitment to community-driven leadership, which he now channels through mentoring startups at organizations such as TechStars, Harvard, MIT, MassChallenge, and XLerateHealth. He also served as Co-Director of the Harvard Business Club, where he provided strategic guidance and fundraising support to empower Harvard-affiliated founders. An advocate for applied machine learning, Amber has made significant contributions to the advancement of AI in both professional and academic settings. He co-instructed the "Collaborative Data Science in Medicine" course at MIT, bridging the gap between AI and healthcare. His work has been featured at leading machine learning conferences like NeurIPS and ACL and published in respected journals such as Lancet and Springer. Amber's deep passion for healthcare and technology has earned him speaking engagements on prominent platforms like TEDx, Mayo Clinic, DuPont, and Udacity, where he shares his insights on AI’s transformative role.
