Adeoluwa is an accomplished IT and Security leader with a strong record of delivering technology transformation, cybersecurity maturity, and regulatory compliance in the financial sector. His academic and professional background spans Computer Science (Obafemi Awolowo University), Management and Information Systems (University of Manchester), the Cambridge Judge CTO Programme, HarvardX Cybersecurity, and multiple industry certifications. After stints at the British Council (Nigeria and the UK), Yorkshire Building Society, and Barclays Bank, he joined WEMA Bank as its first Chief Information Security Officer. He established the Information Security Department from the ground up. He built internal capability for audit readiness and governance, eliminating the recurring cost of external consultants for ISO 27001 and ISO 20000 pre-audit preparation. This shift delivered significant cost savings while improving audit outcomes, with successful surveillance and recertification cycles driven entirely by in-house expertise. He ensured sustained PCI DSS compliance and strengthened the bank’s overall security posture through structured governance, continuous monitoring, and resilient control design. As CISO, he also improved platform reliability by driving security hardening across critical systems, contributing to higher service availability and reducing downtime associated with security-related incidents. These improvements supported a more stable operating environment and stronger operational risk management. Following these results, he transitioned into the role of Chief Information Officer, expanding his remit from enterprise security to enterprise technology leadership. He leads the bank’s technology strategy and execution, ensuring the continuous availability of critical services and advancing the maturity of the disaster recovery and business continuity capabilities. His leadership has improved operational efficiency, enhanced resilience, and strengthened customer-centric technology delivery across the institution. His contributions to technology and cybersecurity excellence also earned him an invitation to the Forbes Technology Council, recognising his impact at the intersection of innovation, risk, and digital transformation.
