The co-author of "The Truth about College Admission: A Family Guide to Getting In and Staying Together" and “Powerful College Admission Essays: A Guide to Telling Your Story,” Brennan Barnard is the director of college counseling for The Forest School, and the College Guidance Network. He is also the college counseling advisor for Khan Lab School and college admission program advisor for Making Caring Common, a project of the Harvard Graduate School of Education. For over two decades he has worked as teacher, dorm parent, advisor, coach, admission officer and student affairs administrator in high schools and colleges. Barnard has written about college admission for the Wall Street Journal, New York Times, Washington Post, HuffPost, Concord Monitor and Journal of College Admission. A practicing Quaker, he is the father of two and lives in Hopkinton, New Hampshire where he is a volunteer firefighter.
