Joan Ekobena is the CEO of Homecare Solutions, Inc., DBA Visiting Angels, a role she has served in for over 20 years. Born in Cameroon, Ekobena moved to the United Kingdom to further her education. She earned a bachelor’s degree in business administration from the London School of Business and Finance and an MBA in international banking and finance from the University of Birmingham in England. She later moved to the United States, where she earned her CNA and LPN licenses and worked in the home care services industry. Then she pivoted into IT and became a senior systems analyst and Oracle database administrator for the Metropolitan Washington Airports Authority. In 2002, she and her husband purchased the Homecare Solutions Inc., DBA Visiting Angels, franchise. Today, the couple owns four franchise locations in the DMV area. With a deep sense of compassion for others, Ekobena is passionate about advocating for the elderly, mentoring individuals on personal development and spiritual growth and helping companies achieve strategic and operational success. She also enjoys traveling, spending time with her family and cooking.
