Katie Klingensmith serves as Chief Investment Strategist at Edelman Financial Engines, where she leverages her career as an economist and market strategist to bring insights to clients. With her deep understanding of the financial markets and her broad knowledge of asset classes, investment strategies and market trends, Katie is skilled at taking complex topics and making them more consumable for investors. Prior to joining EFE, Katie was at Brandywine Global, where she served as a client-facing expert on their portfolios and research. With previous leadership roles at Franklin Templeton, UBS, the US Department of Treasury and the Federal Reserve Board, Katie brings diverse expertise with deep knowledge in both investment management and client communication. She has lived and studied in Spain, El Salvador, Portugal, Argentina, Brazil and Switzerland. She holds a B.A. with high honors from Swarthmore College, a master’s degree from Harvard Kennedy School, and received a Fulbright Fellowship (University of Coimbra) and a Paul Harris Rotary Graduate Fellowship (University of Buenos Aires). Katie is passionate about serving her community as a volunteer and advocate, serving on the Board of San Francisco CASA and as a coordinator at a local food bank.
