Paulo Carvão, Senior Fellow at the Mossavar-Rahmani Center for Business and Government at the Harvard Kennedy School, focuses on AI policy. He is a former technology executive and a member of IBM’s senior leadership. During his three-decade tenure at IBM, he led organizations that assisted clients with IT infrastructure and digital transformation. Since leaving IBM in 2022, he has served as an advisor on technology and go-to-market, and a VC investor and startup board member. While at Harvard, he participated in the 2023 Harvard Advanced Leadership Initiative, focusing on the intersection of technology and democracy. He was also a fellow at the Safra Center for Ethics and the inaugural Entrepreneur-in-Residence at the Harvard Kennedy School Institute of Politics’ GovLab. Passionate about current and future leaders, he currently mentors at the Harvard Innovation Labs, the Massachusetts Institute of Technology PKG Center, and Harvard Winthrop House, where he is a Resident Scholar.
