Dr. Anita Gupta is a distinguished physician-pharmacist and a leading voice in global health policy. As a Founding Curator and Member Expert of the World Economic Forum (WEF) and a Delegate to the World Women Davos Agenda, she is renowned for her innovative approaches to addressing critical health challenges, particularly in the area of drug access and public health crisis management. Dr. Gupta serves as a Gates Foundation Innovation Equity Forum on Women’s Health advisor and has served as Senior Advisor at the Milken Institute Center for Public Health, where she played a pivotal role in shaping health policy initiatives. As New York City’s Chief Surgeon, she led efforts to improve healthcare delivery systems and manage complex medical cases. Her current focus includes spearheading initiatives aimed at combating the global drug crisis and enhancing access to essential medications. Appointed by the American Society of Anesthesiologists, Dr. Gupta advocates for the expansion of naloxone access through the U.S. Food and Drug Administration (FDA), addressing the opioid epidemic with insights grounded in frontline experience.
