Dr. Jason Wingard is a globally renowned scholar and executive, with deep experience in both the private and public sectors, specializing in organizational talent strategy, the future of work, and environment, sustainability, and governance (ESG). In his 25+ year career, he has held strategic oversight and bottom-line accountability for budgets exceeding $3 billion, supervisory management of over 15,000 personnel, and governance leadership roles for both corporate and non-profit boards.Dr. Wingard currently serves as Distinguished Visiting Professor at Harvard University and Executive Chairman of the Education Board, Inc. He recently served as the 12th President of Temple University and, concurrently, Professor of Management and Professor of Policy, Organizational, and Leadership Studies.Dr. Wingard formerly served as Dean of Columbia University’s School of Professional Studies and Professor of Human Capital Management. Prior to Columbia, he was Managing Director and Chief Learning Officer at Goldman Sachs. Previous to Goldman Sachs, he served as: Vice Dean of the Wharton School, University of Pennsylvania; President & CEO of the ePals Foundation, and Senior Vice President of ePals, Inc.; and Executive Director of the Stanford Educational Leadership Institute, at Stanford University. He has also served in a variety of cross-functional executive and consulting roles for organizations including the Aspen Institute, the Vanguard Group, and Silicon Graphics, Inc. (SGI).As a thought leader, Dr. Wingard has published widely on the topic of strategy, leadership, and talent development, including his two most recent award-winning books, published by Stanford University Press: The College Devaluation Crisis: Market Disruption, Diminishing ROI, and an Alternative Future of Learning (2022); and The Great Skills Gap: Optimizing Talent for the Future of Work (2021). He is a Senior Contributor on Leadership Strategy for Forbes; a frequent keynote speaker for Fortune 100 companies such as P&G, Google, and the NFL; and a regular guest/contributor for leading media outlets including CNBC, the Wall Street Journal, and NPR. In corporate governance, Dr. Wingard serves as a member of the Boards of Directors of Kroll, Inc. and Advanced Materials Technology (Secretary). He also recently served as a member of the Boards of Advisors for Comcast (Corporate DEI Advisory Council) and PepsiCo (CEO Diversity Council). As a public servant, he is currently a member of the Boards of Directors of JUST Capital (Nominating), Roundabout Theater Company (Diversity), Fulbright Canada, and the Education Board Foundation (Chair). He previously served on the Boards of Directors for the American Athletic Conference (Audit), Greater Philadelphia Chamber of Commerce (Executive), Tides Foundation (Chair), Building 21, UPCEA, United Cerebral Palsy of Philadelphia, the National Center for Fathering, and White Williams Scholars/Philadelphia Futures. Dr. Wingard holds a BA in Sociology (Organizational Behavior & Social Psychology), with honors, from Stanford University where he was a member of the varsity football and track teams. He also holds a MA in Education (Professional Development) from Emory University, a EdM in Technology in Education from Harvard University, and a PhD in Education, Culture, and Society (Corporate Education) from the University of Pennsylvania.
