He also completed an infantry officer's course with honors and received the "Givaty Brigade Merit" for personnel preservation. Aviel has served as the Chairman of the Israeli Alumni Association and as a member of the "Elem Friends Forum"; he also worked in the Office of the Prime Minister of Israel for two years.
