Lieke ten Brummelhuis is Author of the book Work-Life Strategy and an Associate Professor in Management at SFU’s Beedie School of Business, as well as a consultant and speaker. She has been a contributor on Forbes since July 2024. Based on her researches on workaholism, work-life balance, and healthy work habits, Lieke shares insights on how to work healthily with leaders and employees worldwide. In her book Work-Life Strategy: Finding Happiness by Strategically Juggling Roles, Lieke explains why work-life balance can be elusive and lays out straightforward exercises that help readers design their own unique strategy to get things out of each life role that matter for happiness.Her work has been published in top academic journals and featured on Harvard Business Review and The Conversation. Lieke has led various consulting projects in international organizations on employee health and well-being audits, creating a respectful work climate, as well as promoting work-life balance. She regularly facilitates work-life balance workshops.Lieke obtained her Ph.d (2009) in organizational sociology from Utrecht University, the Netherlands, followed by postdoc positions at Erasmus University Rotterdam and the Wharton School.
