Patrick Gleason, a Forbes contributor since 2014, is vice president of state affairs at Americans for Tax Reform, a Washington, D.C.-based advocacy and policy research organization founded in 1985 at the request of President Ronald Reagan. Gleason, who also serves as senior fellow at the Beacon Center, a Nashville-based think tank, has worked in and covered state legislatures for nearly two decades. Gleason’s writing and commentary on state legislative and political developments has been featured in The Economist, Reuters, Politico, the Wall Street Journal, and Los Angeles Times, among others.
