Layne Randolph is a wine and travel journalist covering global cultural heritage, lifestyle and business through the lens of wine. Her work explores historical wine routes, elevated and sustainable tourism and the people shaping the wine industry. Based in Sonoma, California, Layne has traveled to 53 countries across five continents and lived in Rome, Florence and Turin. She has led readers into the cellars and vineyards of hundreds of wine brands, with bylines in Wine Enthusiast, Decanter, Haute Living and AFAR. A certified Napa Valley Wine Specialist, she is a two-time Fellow of the Napa Valley Vintners' Wine Writers’ Symposium, and she is co-authoring a forthcoming book, Wine Is Culture, with the president of Iter Vitis, a Council of Europe cultural route.
