Andrea Levere is the founder and CEO of Capitalize Good, a Social Enterprise Fellow at the Yale School of Management, visiting scholar at the Federal Reserve Bank of New York, and an Aspen Institute Ascend Fellow Alumni. With a career spanning over three decades in economic development, asset-building and financial inclusion, she has dedicated her professional life to addressing wealth inequality and creating pathways to economic opportunity. Capitalize Good is a social enterprise working to disrupt philanthropy by expanding access to “Enterprise Capital” – unrestricted, multi-year funding that strengthens nonprofits’ balance sheets. Through direct work with funders and nonprofits, advocacy, and thought leadership, the goal is to ensure every nonprofit has the capitalization necessary to tackle the root causes of the problems they seek to solve and design a path to financial sustainability. Andrea currently serves as board chair for two community development financial institutions – ROC USA and Rochdale Capital – and as vice chair of Scale Link. She was previously a member of the Federal Reserve Board of Governors’ Community Advisory Council, serving as both vice chair and chair during her three-year term. With volatility saturating the nonprofit sector today, Enterprise Capital can help nonprofits build resiliency, maintain essential services in the face of funding disruptions, and prepare in advance for political and legal threats.
