Leading organizations through transformation is what I do with great passion. For me, the journey is deeply rewarding; it reflects my own journey from humble roots in Germany's rustbelt to where I am today. I began leading the transformation at Cengage Group in Fall 2012, initiating a successful Chapter 11 reorganization that paved the way for the industry’s first-ever all-access digital subscription service, designed to make education more accessible and affordable. Under my leadership, Cengage Group has transformed from a traditional print publisher into an education technology business that advances the way students learn through quality, digital experiences. Seventy-three percent of Cengage Group's adjusted cash revenues now stem from digital, and we are on a pathway towards ninety percent by 2030. We are disrupting our industry – united by the belief that through the power and joy of learning, students can enrich their lives and achieve their dreams – no matter their age, experience, abilities, or environment. Prior to my role at Cengage Group, I served as CEO and led the transformation of two Reed Elsevier divisions: Elsevier Health Sciences and Harcourt Education Assessment. Earlier, I led Bertelsmann’s media portfolio reorganization. My career began at The Boston Consulting Group.
