I'm a startup founder and AI researcher focused on deep learning and reinforcement learning. As a Ph.D. student at NYU I focus on developing biologically inspired deep learning and reinforcement learning techniques with applications to neuroscience, NLP and computer vision. Occasionally I consult on AI projects. Previously I was a deep learning researcher at the Center For Theoretical Neuroscience at Columbia University, co-founded AI startup NextGenVest and served as the CTO and Chief AI Officer, and was a software engineer at Goldman Sachs, iOS Lead at Bonobos and led the development of 8 iOS apps. I started my career as a Naval Officer undergoing US Navy SEAL training (BUD/S class 277) until I was injured in training and worked at NSW Special Reconnaissance Team One (SRT-1).
