クラホベ方面の直近の戦闘は激しい接近戦だった。この方面の南側では、ロシア軍の自動車化狙撃部隊が歩兵戦闘車19両、戦車4両でウクライナ空中強襲軍（空挺軍）第79独立空中強襲旅団の陣地に突進してきた。
第79空中強襲旅団は、熟練の対戦車ミサイル兵やFPV（一人称視点）ドローン操縦士を擁する。彼らは20日にさらに経験を積んだ。「われわれの空挺兵たちはまたもや侵略者に温かいおもてなしをしました」と同旅団は報告している。
第79空中強襲旅団の説明によれば、ロシア側の歩兵戦闘車5両と戦車1両を撃破し、人員24人を殺害した。「生き延びた装甲車両はわれわれの対戦車ミサイルと攻撃ドローンに恐れをなして逃げ去った」という。
